Without Limits Dietitian/Nutritionist
In the community of registered dietitians and nutritionists where I live, work and breathe, there is a movement towards helping clients achieve body awareness and satisfaction that we can be “healthy at any size.” I truly believe this is important work as our culture has promoted thinness as equal to health, when in fact, this is not always the case. This has contributed to disordered thinking about body image and in many cases, disordered eating and extreme dieting.
In my work with athletes, however there is typically a desire to drop some weight in preparation for a goal race. This is true even among athletes who are already at a normal BMI. I support my client’s goals as long as we can agree upon a healthy, balanced macronutrient plan that provides enough nutrition to fuel the training they do. Restrictive dieting is not healthy or appropriate for athletes (or anyone else). What’s your ideal racing weight? How do you eat to achieve it? Check out the Without Limits Race Ready Nutrition Program or my 3-Month Weight Loss Program (link) and I will help you achieve your goals.
