The Low-Down on Tracy:

Tracy Yancey is a dedicated fitness professional and running coach with more than 20 years of experience training individuals and teams across all ages and ability levels. A certified personal trainer (ACSM, AFAA, ACE) and certified running coach (RRCA, USATF), she brings a holistic approach to performance training, injury prevention, and athlete development. Tracy currently serves as Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field at Oceanside Collegiate Academy, entering her fifth season leading the program.

She’s no stranger to Without Limits. Since moving to Charleston, Tracy has been an active team member, finding her community among the Without Limits athletes. She enjoys early morning practices, meeting teammates for weekend long runs, and sharing the camaraderie of racing together. She has also served as an Assistant Coach in the Youth Training Program, where her son Arrow discovered his own love for running among peers. Tracy is now excited to officially join the Without Limits coaching staff.

What she coaches:

Adult and youth running, speed work to marathon, and strength coaching.

What was your defining moment as an athlete or coach?

For Tracy, the highlights aren’t single big trophies but countless small victories: a client who lowers their cholesterol, an athlete who runs farther than they thought possible, or someone who notices an improvement in mental well-being. “Those little moments are why I love this work,” she says. “They’re what make me proud to be part of someone’s journey.”

What are your favorite non-running activities?

A big one for Tracy is lifting weights; she also loves a hot yoga class and long walks with friends.
When she’s not coaching:  You’ll usually find her outside—hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, or relaxing poolside. She also enjoys “day dates” with her husband, exploring new local coffee shops.

What she admires in her athletes:

Tracy admires athletes who show up. “Not everyone is born with special talent, but consistency—showing up day after day—is the key to progress.” She focuses on building sustainable habits, resiliency, and confidence alongside speed and strength.
