Week 2 for the #WithoutLimitsChallenge in Charleston is in the books. Among other goals, our participants are training for the Cooper River Bridge Run 10k in April. This week we asked our challengers what motivates them for their training. A common theme? FAMILY.

Without sounding like too much of a cliche, My inspiration for the challenge are my children. It’s important to me to show my girls the process of setting goals, working toward the goal and succeeding (or not quite reaching the goal). Both success and failure teach us important life lessons.  I also want them to know that this takes place at any age. It’s important not to let age or gender dictate your goals!

My inspiration to challenge myself would have to be my two sons, Kellan and Maddox. I am a firm believer in leading by example, and with me running and exercising daily, they are growing up learning the importance of exercise and living a healthy lifestyle. It is amazing to see them take interest in exercise because mommy and daddy do it. My oldest has even sparked an interest in running and has asked if he can start running 5ks with me. It is such a wonderful feeling.
They inspire me to be healthy and fit because I want to do everything possible to be around to watch them grow. Not to mention, running and exercise helps me to be able to keep up with them on a daily basis.
