“Belief in limits creates limited people. DON’T LIVE BY LIMITS, LIVE BY POSSIBILITIES! Constantly question what others might say about what you can’t do, where you can’t go.
If you want it bad enough, are willing work hard enough, and refuse to take no for an answer then you will always accomplish much more than someone who accepts mediocrity and borders. CHALLENGE yourself and others to reach for the stars!”

Triathlon Results
Jason Klaitman from Durham gets a nice Xterra under his belt last weekend taking 10th overall at XTERRA TSALI. Hard work pays off Jason!
This little piggie went to market, this little piggie stayed home, this little piggie had roast beef and this little piggie had none and this little piggie said Wee Wee Wee all the way to the podium!!
BC and Dougie Fresh represented with 2nd OA Masters Male and 2nd AG. Lindsey Hess “blew the house” down winning 3rd OA Female and winning the Wolf!! Coach Sami, Elizabeth Hinshaw, Erin Green, Jen Spanner Bernard, and Lori Drake all brought home some piggies too. But the best, Holly Cunningham and Lisa Kerr waited all year to make the podium and bring home a piggie and they did!!! And we weren’t done, Lynda Smith finished her first sprint and we all went out to run Allie Shofe in to the finish! One of the best days ever!
Congrat to Coach Wisty for smoking the Carolina Beach Double Sprint by minutes! Bridget Phillips took 2nd in her AG. Great work Mark Dillan, Ty Rabon, Ray Caffee, Ed McDermott, Tim Gill, Dave Dupont.
Anna Maltby and Brianne Jablow are some brave and awesome Rockstars to finish Carolina Beach Double Sprint. A close encounter of the “fin” kind and just ask Brianne about her day. Proud of you ladies for getting that done! Nicole Moss had a solid race and learned a lot about racing the OW ocean swim. She has been consistent in her training and her hard work and joy of the sport is contagious. Ray Caffee raced his first Tri in a lot of years and had a solid race. A learning experience and great day. Full steam ahead for IMNC 70.3 for everyone!
Windy Chrisy and Lauren Stephenson had a great time at the Carolina Beach Double Sprint as they both finished with smiles and medals. Congrats ladies on crushing that OWS 🙂
Congratulations to remote athlete, Ilene Schnall on her 2nd AG podium at the 26th Annual Independence Day Triathlon in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Ilene is on her way to IMFL and has improved in all 3 disciplines and it came through today. Steady effort and doing all of the extras. You Rock Ilene!
50K
Malia Tumolo had a phenomenal race at the Eastern Divide 50K! She felt strong the entire race and had more left at the end. What a perfect training cycle for Malia and well deserved training for such a touch race on the flat coast!
Congratulations to Rockstar athlete and artist, Sue Bark, whose work was recently highlighted as part of a series at the Burgin-Wright House Downtown. For anyone that hasn’t seen her work, it is beautiful. Keep up all of those paint outs!
Recent 5Ks
Eddie Buchanan – 1st place masters in the Glacier Challenge 5K. This was basically an uphill course and once eddie started, he never got passed!
Matt Janik and Shawn Horton both ran 5Ks last week in 20:24. They are both clipping off seconds to get that sub 20 and are confident that once the weather cools down – it’s on!
Scott Perry ran 17:20 and Shawn Wellersdick ran 19:19 at the Blueberry Festival 5K in Burgaw! Great races both of you!
Update on John and Alecia
Alecia Williams- Walked 240 ft on her own after a devistating injury to her femur back in April at the boston marathon! Her determination to compete again is amazing
John Grooman is also walking again after he shattered his tibia in a mountain bike race.
Both John and Alecia are “embracing the challenge” and will be back!
