70.3 SANTA ROSA
What a magical weekend for Team Without Limits! From a beautiful, but cold swim, to an awesome scenic cycle and a flat and super supported run, the course and venue did not disappoint. As Coach Sami said – “we laughed, we cried, we cheered and we ALL finished”.
Mark Austin posted a solid day coming off the Boston Marathon and Lindsey Hess showed her swim is improving as she crossed the finish line with a smile!! Tim Gill was a true Superstar busting the 6 hour mark for the first time in a 70.3 distance at 5:57! Mike Nichols and Lisa Kerr had solid finishes on a fun course and Holly Cunningham decided she just wanted to run a touch more :-)!!! Handling adversity with style was Holly’s attitude of the day and that is a true champion. LYNDA!!! Lynda Smith finished her first 70.3 and her smile was the size of the entire state of California! She looked fantastic! Beth Brampton had a great race and was the last official finisher on such a tough journey! We are all proud of you BB, way to finish and make it all come together!! You’re amazing 🙂
Coach Sami finished her 28th Half Ironman/iron distance and qualified for 70.3 Worlds in Chattanooga, TN! It was building more bike handling experience, race travel experience, and continuing to coach her athletes to that finish line that was the order of the day! It was a great finish to a long day!
But the best part of the day was our sherpas!! WOL Teammates Nick Rashid and Catherine Clement were on injured reserved, but came and cheered and supported the racers even though they couldn’t race. We couldn’t have done this without Charlie George and all the rest of our sherpas who drove, cooked, cheered and were there for the day. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!! This was for you! Now onward and upward to the next adventure Rockstars!!

Michael Jones finished his first triathlon EVER!! Only Rockstars do Pinehurst as their first triathlon ever!!! Ren Rotondo, Mr. Steve White, and Ty Rabon had fun racing and chasing each other on the course and Steve White had the run of the day! Jennifer Barker (2nd AG) and Coach Sami (1st AG) both raced strong in their AG’s and brought home some hardware. The team was rounded out with Charlie Jackson, Lesly Jurado and Jennie Mott, who lived to race another day! Any day is a great day when you can toe that start line. Way to go everyone on a Hot Rockstar kinda day. (Coach Sami swept the race in all sports and claimed the fastest swim, T1, bike, T2, and run in her AG).
