“Life is filled with so many exciting twists and turns. Hop off the straight and narrow whenever you can and take the winding paths. Experience the exhilaration of the view from the edge. Because the moments spent there, that take your breath away, are what make you feel truly alive.”
What an experience it was at this years Quintiles WB Marathon Madness weekend! Great stories, awesome finishes, personal bests and so many memories. The race is important, but the memories last a lifetime! You might see the letters PR next to several names – that means PERSONAL BEST – and there are quite a few! Why do people set out to PR?
When a human being is challenged both physically and mentally, he pushes himself to be better, thus pushes against his self-created boundaries- boundaries which only hindered his path to progress. When someone is pushed, he gets the determination to break open his shackles. This helps him meet newer people, be open and honest with them and helps him stand tall amidst the various members of the society. ~ This was an anonymous quote but I liked it so I used this as my quote~ Coach Tom

“Seeing the results of everyone’s hard work play out on the race course was amazing, but even better than that was watching the grimace of pain leave and the smile of victory come as people run down the finish shoot. Being just a small part of the team that makes this race possible is an honor.” ~Coach Brian

Level 1 was definitely committed to training for this race weekend and the PRs were there to prove it! On race day, they encouraged each other through sickness and through muscles that had given up completely. We had a first-time full marathoner, half marathoner, and 5k participant. There were also runners completing both the QWB 5k and the half marathon race. As their coach, I was most proud of their support for each other….not only on race day, but at every cold, wet, and windy practice this winter. Level 1 made no excuses and found no limits! ~Coach Faye
